Richard, I don't know if I'll find a Finnish flag that is suitable size, what size should it be?

Page one of the thread has the answer but I'll repeat it again for those who are rejoining the thread mid-stream. Ideal size will be about:

10cm high x 15cm long on a stick about 20cm - 25cm in length
=or=
4" high x 6" long on a stick about 9-1/2" to 10" in length

You can find these typically at parades or other national events and also for desk top displays. I'm visiting the Chicago area flag store one more time to get a New Zealand flag for Carly so if you don't think you can get one to bring with you, let me know soon.

=Richard=

Thanks Richard!

The flags I've seen sold are bigger, smallest about twice the size, so if you're going to a flag store, if you wouldn't mind getting a Finnish flag for me? I'll refund you in Timmins :)

I never even got a French Class way back when... eeek

I do speak two lanuguages though.....

Fluent English and

Fluent Gibberish (after a few Canadian lagers) ;)

Tom,

What about your knowledge of the Scottish dialects? Can you speak much of that, or is it just some of the familiar expressions that you know? I remember you interpreted some of that for me a while back.

I wonder if Steve, Eric, Charlie, Kristin, Dave or any of the others I know from these parts, are bringing a Michigan flag. I've seen that flag, even had to use it on multiple occasions. But it was a standard official size, not the mini size for desks etc.

Yes Bob I can Read and Write and understand Doric, but that is a language just spoken in the remote NE of Scotland and not even any use in the rest of Scotland! eeek.

Ahah!! So you're a CODE Talker! Our Navajo's and others did that for us during WW-II. You're a rare and special breed! No wonder folks sometimes have a bit of trouble understanding you.

Personally, I thought your interpretation of Doric for me a while back was absolutely fascinating. I love puzzles. Unfortunately, I've already got more than I can figure out, just in the regular game of life. So I probably won't have much further opportunity to delve into the "Delights of Doric."

But if I were you, I wouldn't discount the value of knowing Doric. I'd regard it as a personal and community treasure. Whether any given outsider is willing to value it or pay for it, is irrelevant. Some things have intrinsic value and can be kept on the inside. Shania says she does that with some of her best and most intimate songs.

I know you were just here a few weeks ago Richard, but are you getting as excited as I am about this years Fan Convention?

It is going to be the best one ever because we have more Shania Fans attending than ever this year and that just gets my heart pounding with joy.

We were just so busy at the Centre yesterday I am going in today to sweep out the tour bus again as I can't leave it like that for today's visitors.

It is parked meantime ouside in a gravel filled drive and the fine gravel gets taken in to the coach on the visitors shoes. This will be taken care off I am sure once funds are avaiable to display the coach as a part of the main display area. In the mean time for those visiting us for the very first time this year, you get a real one to one experience in Shania's mobile home as a member of the centre staff has to tour round with you.

I made $5.00 in tips yesterday (Saturday) and I do not expect tips, as in Scotland we don't tip, it is not our way. This is true in the whole of the UK as a rule.

However I accept the Loonie's when they come my way as the look of joy on the fans faces when I manage to do my bit well though reward enough would turn to sorrow if I was to refuse to take the tip.

I am becoming quite the photo expert now, as I offer to take family or group photo's around the coach I am beginning to learn how all the various makes of camera work.... eeek I am a Camera Nerd, a Computer Geek and a Shania Fan... Well the last bit I am proud off! So bring it on Tracy, I am in Party mood with 3 weeks and counting :D
