BOB I'll bring the Michigan flag,, note to myself, its now on my to buy list..

That's great, Steve!

Thanks a lot.

Maybe I'll keep an eye out to see if I can bring one from Colorado. Technically, I don't live there. But I could'a died there a couple times on some of those mountains. And I'll be there, when Tracy's convention itinerary arrives at my place this year.

I think the flag display is going to look really cool once you all add your flags to it. :D

Had to pick up my daughter from Chicago O'Hare last night and was able to get the Finland and New Zealand flags like I promised. They'll get added to the display in Timmins soon :)
Don't forget to bring a flag of your area if you're coming to Fan/Con3 .....or even if you aren't coming to fan/con3, find a flag and mail it to the STC and Tracy will add it to the collection :D

Bring your flags to the Meet-n- greet or when you come in to register at the STC so you can add it to the collection.

I don't think I will be able to bring a flag... flags in that size are hard to find here. Actually in general flags are hard to find here... :(

Yes, flags are hard to find in some places. The tourist/visitor centers in Estes Park Colorado were stumped on that question. So were the relevant stores even though that town is right next to one of Colorado's biggest tourist attractions - Rocky Mountain National Park. We fared no better in Leadville, 150 miles away.

However, on the way home, we passed through Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It has a National Czech-Slovak village and museum that we stopped to see, due to our Czechoslovakian ancestry. Surprisingly, they had flags in multiple sizes, including the 4 by 6 inch desktop size. So I got one of each (Czech Republic and Slovak Republic). I don't think I'll bring them to the convention though. For one thing, we have limited space on the STC bus. For another, we probably should stay with flags from our home state, province, or country, and not include flags from places where our ancestors came from.

Steve was kind enough to bring one for Michigan, where I live, so I'm covered.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to decide whether I have enough space (and disinhibition) to bring the 2 pins I bought:

"You can always tell a SLOVAK,
but you can't tell him much!"

"Living with a
CZECH builds character."

Hi Annette,

Flags of Denmark are available at this link.
http://www.hanoverflags.com/productDeta ... 2DE&Id=360

The 4x6 inch costs $1.45.

One website advertised delivery in 24 hours. But that was not for national flags. I found the above by Googling "flags." I think it's probably too late to try to get one by the Internet, in time for your flight.

Yeah, I think it is... I'm leaving on Tuesday. But thanks anyway... I may be able to get a paper flag that's a little bigger than the size mentioned..

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the alert. There is a good little gift shop at the State Library of Michigan & Museum here in Lansing. The library and museum are fairly new and very large. They house the history book I wrote, and are just across the street from where I used to work. They have lots of Michigan memorabilia in the gift shop, since this is the state capitol. I'll try to check there on Monday, for a Michigan flag before I leave for Toronto on Tuesday.

Bob

Ah..., Lady Luck smiled on me today, and I "counted coup" on a small Michigan flag from the gift shop at the state museum/library. For a while, I wondered if I was going to be able to pry the shop employee's nose out of a deep book long enough to wait on a customer. But now the Michigan Contingent of ST fans/supporters, will be represented in the flag display at the STC.

Here is the Michigan flag at top.

2nd flag is for the Czech Republic. It was also the flag for the former Czechoslovakia.

3rd flag is for the Slovak Republic.

If anyone is coming to the convention from those last 2 countries, but is unable to bring a flag, let me know and I'll bring one for you.
