X Factor winner Leona Lewis and American Idol loser Jennifer Hudson lead from the front at VH1's Divas concert

It was a reality show reunion of sorts, as X Factor winner Leona Lewis and American Idol loser Jennifer Hudson led from the front at VH1's Divas show.

Dressed in a baby pink gown, and waist cinching belt, Leona, 24, looked stunning as she took to the red carpet ahead of her performance.
And it was a triumphant return to the stage for Jennifer Hudson, 28, after giving birth to her first child just over four weeks ago.

Beside performing their hit songs, Leona and Jennifer duetted with special musical guests. The Bleeding Love singer traded harmonies with 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' singer Lauper on song True Colors.

While Hudson may have had the night's biggest diva moment — a duet with Stevie Wonder, who she calls her 'childhood hero' on his All in Love is Fair, mooted as one of the night's highlights.

British Grammy award winner Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus also took part in the show collaborating with singers India.Arie, Melissa Etheridge, Martina McBride and Sheryl Crow.

The concert which took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House was hosted by former American Idol judge Paula Abdul who squeezed in a medley of her hit singles.

The deposed American Idol judge used her first post Idol appearance to have a playful dig at her replacement opening the show wearing Ellen's signature suit, tennis shoes and a short blonde wig - while bouncing around onstage.

Abdul's dead-on impersonation of Ellen DeGeneres drew roars from the crowd as she danced her way from aisle to stage. She then offered a 'good luck' to DeGeneres.

But she put in a lively performance ascending from beneath the stage to cavort with 10 male dancers in top hats, vests and shorts for song Party in the USA.

Later the legendary singer Liza Minnelli popped out of the audience to banter with Abdul, to the delight of the crowd.
Teen sensation Miley Cyrus - seemed a strange choice alongside the line-up of powerhouse singers. But she put in a lively performance ascending from beneath the stage to cavort with 10 male dancers in top hats, vests and shorts for song Party in the USA.

Season 6 American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and Martina McBride joined forces on Broken Wing, Miley and Sheryl Crow duetted on If It Makes You Happy while Kelly Clarkson and Melissa Etheridge shared singing duties on Bring Me Some Water.
