Im late, but Im starting to plan my trip.
Wow... 1400€ for the flights... I had to do it early.
Its my first time and asked the help of a tourist agency, they are planning my trip and I asked them to contact Travelodge hotel too.
I think I will arrive in Timmins 1 day before, the 4th in the afternoon, and start my trip back to Italy the 8th afternoon.
I need to know if there is someone else coming the 4th from Torornto and back the 8th or..., to make the trip togheter.
Bus? Airplane? Train? Boat?
Ps: I phoned to a Canada Consulate and they said visa not necessary, but they recommended an health insurance...
Pps: someone want share a room?

If you want to travel to Timmins and get to see a large part of Ontario, the train is the best way. The train departs Toronto at 0840 and arrives in Timmins at 1930. The last 45 minutes, you are transfered to a bus. It stops many times along the way but would give you a great chance to see the wilderness, the forest and many small villages along the way (from the window of course). A return train ticket costs $ 292.70

The bus from Toronto has a few more options.

Depart at 0915 and arrive at 2210.
Depart at 1100 and arrive at 2145
Depart at 2330 and arrive at 1055

It`s a long ride and you cannot walk around. It stops a few times and you can get off and stretch your legs. The return ticket on the train is 268.90.

The last option is the plane. Right now there is a sale on plane tickets which is quite affordable. You could depart Toronto at 12:20 on Aug 4... arrive in Timmins at 1255.... Depart 1935 on Aug 8th and arrive in Toronto at 2111. 489.57$ This is about half the usual price.

All the prices I gave you are in Canadian Dollars.

I believe I read somewhere that they are repairing the tracks in some spots along the way and passengers have to go by bus on some stretches... Have you heard anything about that? Would that take even longer?

Timmins is very far from Toronto... 11hs by train or bus?!?
+ almost 12 hours by plane...
If I was with someone else, I think I could take bus or train, but it seems that I will travel alone... So I think to use the plane. Just 35mins?
Thinking to be in Timmins the 4th, ~midday, and start my trip back in the middle of the 8th afternoon...
I have to go to the travel agency tomorrow.
Well, its late yet, but I need the weekend to take my decision. My mom has health problems, so...

Well having been to Timmins, by plane, train, bus and automobile the plane is the way to go, unless you want to sight see on the way up, then by car is the best way.


Sorry I will be missing Fan Con this year. I am fly to Texas on Sunday. I just hope the movers do not lose my Shania stuff or my computer. :p

Sorry for the late response. Just back from an other business trip.
Only Esther is leaving that early on Monday. My flight is at 10.30am to Toronto and 5.55 pm to Amsterdam. Marja has a different flight time.
I'm also arriving in Timmins on Monday 2 Aug., like Esther, by plane.
(Arriving in Toronto on 30 July but very busy schedule.)
