What makes this even more frustrating, is that (we thought) we KNEW the people who decided to sell Roughstock (and the ShaniaForums included) to a hiphop company.
We worked with them, side by side, for years. Some, we had met in person. We thought we were friends.
Yet, no word about their plans to sell out before, during or afterwards.
We only found out afterwards ourselves by accident & still no explanation.
But we knew the ShaniaForums would not survive in the long run under the ownership of a company that is specialized in the hiphop community. We wrote about our growing concerns, but many took our rants as doomsday talk and labelled us as "just being negative".

AND we happen to know for a FACT, that the CMG CEO has complained about the costs of running the Forums; web server, software license fees, not enough visitors now compared to 2002-2004... Mr Cherian NEVER came across as any kind of fan of Shania... we knew from the first moment he emerged, the days of ShaniaForums were numbered.
It also looks like he has no respect towards his hiphop members either - as he isn't planning to restore or even give hiphopdx.com a new messageboard... money saved, is money earned - right..?
I just noticed... A hiphopdx/CMG employee removed my question regarding the closure of ShaniaForums on their getsatisfaction discussion board.
